About SOTS
Amassed from the ashes of various punk rock roots and bands comes STATIC ON THE STEREO. With high-octane live shows and singer Mike Bentz leading onstage theatrics, it’s hard for crowds to contain themselves on the floor. SOTS music is inspired from the energy-laden punk shows of the 90’s and 2000’s stemming from the old school, and often times smelly, concert halls of Southern California.
Hailing from Chicago, Darrick Ofenloch (drums, recording/mixing) and Nate Moeder (guitar, vox) of SoCal quickly found synergy with their recording and writing backgrounds for precision punk rock. Bass player Doug Gilbert adds the rumble and inspiration to the group.
Together, this band prides itself on being self-recorded. Releasing new material when it wants to. Playing shows that kick you in the face. And offers no apologies – unless you get hit by a shoe. Check them out on iTunes/Spotify/Amazon - but only if you like to have fun in the pit, or enjoy an occasional stage dive onto your buddy's head.
